Privacy Policy
Last updated: 08 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Prepura (Prepura.com) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website. Prepura is an informational portal for government job notifications, exam results, admit cards, answer keys, syllabus updates, blog/articles, and related recruitment news for users in India.
By using this website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or create an account.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you browse without an account
Most of Prepura can be used without registering. When you visit public pages (job listings, results, blog, search, etc.), we may automatically collect limited technical information, including:
- Pages visited and the time of visit
- Browser type, device type, and general user-agent string
- Approximate location derived from IP address (country, region, and city where available)
- Referring website (if you arrived from an external link)
- A daily hashed visitor identifier (we do not store your raw IP address in our analytics database)
This data is used internally to understand traffic patterns and improve the portal. Admin and login pages, bots, and automated crawlers are excluded from this visitor analytics where possible.
1.2 Student account information
If you create a free student account or sign in, we may collect and store:
- Full name and email address
- Password (stored in encrypted/hashed form if you register with email)
- Optional profile details you choose to provide: phone number, date of birth, gender, city, state, country, and profile photo
- Account creation date and sign-in method (email/password or Google)
Student accounts are optional and are used to access your dashboard and save profile details. We do not process government job applications on your behalf through this website.
1.3 Information from Google Sign-In
If you choose Continue with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile picture URL) solely to create or authenticate your student account. We do not receive your Google password.
Google’s use of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Google Sign-In is only loaded when configured and when you are not already signed in.
1.4 Information you send us directly
If you contact us by email or through our Contact Us page, we receive the information you choose to share (such as your name, email address, and message content) so we can respond to your query.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Publish and display job notifications, results, admit cards, answer keys, articles, and related content
- Operate search and category browsing on the website
- Create, authenticate, and manage optional student accounts
- Maintain your profile and dashboard when you are signed in
- Monitor website performance, security, and aggregated visitor trends
- Respond to support or privacy-related requests
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Prepura uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function properly, including:
- Session cookies — to keep you signed in and protect forms (for example, CSRF protection)
- Remember-me cookies — if you choose to stay logged in on a trusted device
- Google Sign-In cookies/scripts — when you use Google authentication (loaded from Google’s servers)
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit sign-in, account features, or certain site functionality.
4. Third-Party Services and Links
4.1 External recruitment and government websites
Our pages contain links to official government portals, exam boards, apply-online pages, notification PDFs, and other third-party websites. When you click those links, you leave Prepura and become subject to the privacy practices of those external sites. We are not responsible for how those websites collect or use your data.
4.2 IP geolocation (ip-api.com)
To show approximate visitor location in our internal admin analytics, we may send your IP address to ip-api.com for geolocation lookup. Results are cached briefly to reduce repeated requests. This is used for aggregated site statistics, not for advertising profiles.
4.3 Content sources
Job and exam update information on this portal may be compiled from publicly available recruitment notifications and official sources. Source links are provided where applicable so you can verify details on the official website.
5. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Student account data is kept while your account remains active
- Visitor analytics records are retained for internal reporting and may be aggregated over time
- Support messages are kept as long as needed to resolve your request
You may request account deletion by contacting us. We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate security and record-keeping purposes.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, including encrypted password storage, access controls for admin areas, and secure server practices. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
